Margaret was born in 1424 at Stowell, Somerset.

She was the daughter of Sir John Hody of Stowell, Somerset (1396-1441) and Elizabeth Jewe (1399-1473). John Hody was an accomplished lawyer who was appointed Chief Justice in 1440.

Margaret married Thomas Baynham at ………………………. Church in Stowell, Somerset in 1458, when she was 34 and he was 36. They had two children: Alexander in 1459 and William in 1463.

Margaret died in 1475 at Mitcheldean, aged 51.

Notes:

The pedigree of the Hody family was taken at the Visitation of Somerset in 1623. In the Visitation Book Maragret is stated to have married Thomas Baynham of Deans in the county of Gloucester
