Thomas, my five times great-grandfather, was born at Hope Mansell in 1719.
He married Mary Jenkins at Brampton Abbotts in 1745, when he was 26 and she was 21. They had six children: Thomas in 1747; Mary in 1748; John in 1749; Bevis in 1751; Elisabeth in 1752; Alice in 1754. Mary Jenkins died in 1754.
He next married Hester Wellington, daughter of Thomas Wellington and Ann Wood at Lea in 1756, when he was 37 and she was 29. They had six children: Nancy in 1756; Thomas in 1757: John, my four times great-grandfather, in 1759; Hester in 1760; William in 1765; and George in 1767.
Thomas was baptised at Hope Mansell in the church of St Michael and All Angels on 28th March 1719.

Mary had been born at Ross in Herefordshire in 1724, the daughter of John Jenkins and Margaret ——– . She was baptised at Ross on 16th March.

With her he had six children; the first four were baptised at Brampton Abbotts, in the church of St. Michael and All Angels.

Alice, baptised on 26th August 1754; so presumably she and Mary were twins.

Alice died the same year and was buried (‘an infant’) together with her mother Mary at Aston Ingham on 11th October 1754. Perhaps Mary died of complications arising from the birth of the twins.

In 1756 Thomas married Hester Wellington in the church of St. John the Baptist at Lea, on 19th January.

Hester had been born at Lea in Herefordshire in 1727, the fourth daughter of Thomas Wellington and Ann Wood. She was baptised ‘Esther’ on 16th May at the church of St. John the Baptist in Lea.

Thomas and Hester had six children; all of them were baptised at Aston Ingham, in the church of St. John the Baptist:
Nancy was baptised on 29th September 1756.

A son named Thomas was born in 1757 and baptised on 9th January 1758.

John, my fourth-great-grandfather, was baptised on 20th May 1759.
1759 - baptism of John
A daughter named Hester was baptised on 27th December 1760. She married John Mulleroygale at Little Dewchurch, presumably at St. David’s church, on 13th February 1774.

William was baptised on 9th June 1765.
He died the following year and was buried on 14th February.
