John Baynham (1425- )
John was born in 1425.
He was the fifth child of Robert Baynham and Margaret Abrahall; he was the younger brother of Thomas Baynham of Clearwell.
In 1471 John received his first known appointment, as Sheriff of Gloucestershire.


On 20th July 1483 John was appointed as a Commissioner of the Peace for Gloucestershire.

He was appointed to three further commissions in that year.

On 1st August 1483 John was appointed, with seven others, to a Commission for Gloucestershire “to assess certain sunsidies and appoint collectors of the same so that the sums shall be answered for at Michaelmas”.
