  6. *** interesting that the record above is for ‘Baynham Mrs Caroline, 30 Ravenhurst street’; but in 1860 a Miss Caroline Baynham of Ravenhurst Street is recorded in the Birmingham Journal of 8th September as making an annual subscription of £1 1s to Birmingham General Hospital at the Weekly Board; and in 1896 Caroline Baynham Widow is involved in a court case regarding property in Ravenhurst Street; and the same woman died there aged 76 in 1873

Jeremiah’s burial / grave

  1. the register shows Jeremiah’s trade as ‘ironworker’ – did he leave the glass industry between 1881 and 1891?
  2. his grave is in Section C (Catholic) of the Unconsecrated Ground, with a note under ‘No. of Grave’ saying “Reopened 470 6ft” plus a pencil annotation “1/140” – what does this mean?
  3. the officiating clergyman was Rev. J Fox

Caroline’s burial / grave

  1. she was buried in the same cemetary in 1913 on 7th August (she died on 2nd August)
  2. her grave is in the same Section; the note says “Reop 1004 6ft”; the annotation says “1/145”
  3. the officiating clergyman was Rev. V O’Neill

Urina Ann (b. 20/11/1854) –

  1. she cannot be found in the 1891 census
  2. some time before the birth of her first child Agnes in 1895 she has moved to Australia and married Jesse Andrews (1850-1926)
  3. her second child Charlotte Jessie was born in 1896
  4. she died in Queensland on 1st August 1937, aged 83
  5. did she marry in England or Australia?
  6. when / how / why did she emigrate?

William

  1. did he die between 1861 and 1871?
  2. if so, where is he buried?
  3. had he gone back / was he taken back to The Forest?

  1. where and when did she die?
  2. before William moved to Birmingham to join Jeremiah?
  3. is that why he moved?

  1. 1881 – Eliza (47) and her two children Thomas Pye (14) and Louisa Pye (12), who will later marry Marshall Walker and give birth to Dora’s husband Howard are living with Arthur and Elizabeth at 102 Oldbury Road
  2. was her maiden name Barrett or Barrott?
